My Steampunk Revolution Badges
Industrial Revolution History Page
The Industrial Revolution was the start of mass production and manufacturing in the late 1700 until early 1900. It changed many slow paced life styles where things were usually homemade and lives were focused around local farming. It began the use factories, machines, and assembly lines.

Below is the dimmer switch circuit that I created online in Project Ignite.
Thesis Essay Badge
At the beginning of this project when choosing our issue we wanted to focus on, we wrote essays. Just like my project, my essay is about child labor during the Industrial Revolution. To write essays we first focused on our thesis. A thesis is 1 or 2 sentences at the end of the first paragraph that shows the main theme and what most of the essay will be focused on. A good thesis can be argued against, is descriptive and specific.
My Thesis:
"During the Industrial Revolution, the inhumane trend of exploiting workers to gain profit grew; Capitalists were driven by greed and the need for efficiency to put their workers in dangerous and unhealthy conditions which can still be seen today. The lack of regulations within factories gave the illusion that valuing profit over human lives was acceptable."

Acting Badge
I found it really interesting acting with my classmates. As someone who has a passion for acting I feel like I kinda took a leadership role by helping people get comfortable and and out of their comfort zones. I really enjoyed doing the acting exercises. My favorite acting game was the freeze & flash flood game because we used improve and had to think on our toes.
Stitching Badge
Below is a picture of my stitching project. Made a pillow using 3 different types of stitching. Including the running stitch and the back stitch.
Cooperation
Throughout this project I learned to cooperate in many different ways, especially when designing the project. Since this was mainly a student designed project I had to cooperate with my partner so that we could create a project we both could enjoy. For example, we had to do lots of compromising when creating our monologue. Not only did we have to compromise to tell both of our characters stories but also to make it fun for both of us. I also had to cooperate with the Mr. Ted and Mrs. Sara. I wanted to create a project that was enjoyable but still met the requirements that our teachers set for us, which did take cooperation, compromise, and communication on both of our parts. They also had to be supervising and supporting more than 13 different projects, so I had to make sure I was sharing them with everyone.
Perspective
Perspective was a very big part of my project. As my partner and I were writing our monologue we wanted it to be from the perspective of a child laborer. We really had to dive into the perspective of the many children that go through the brutal and unfair ways of child labor. We had to think about what the emotional, physical, and psychological effects of their labor caused them. I took the character of a child who was put into labor because she was an orphan. Throughout my monologue I tried to channel the emotions that she would be going through. For example the fact that she was first struggling to survive in an orphanage, then when she was finally adopted she was abused and forced to work for up to 17 hours per day. That must have been incredibly devastating for a 7 year old to go through, so I tried to put that emotion in my monologue. Writing this monologue also widened my perspective a lot. I learned to so grateful for the privilege I have to not only go to High Tech but to even go to school.
